Free Pattern – Crochet face scrubbies – easy and quick make
Hi, today I’m sharing with you a free pattern for some crochet face scrubbies.
This pattern I first made way back in 2017 – and it’s only now its made it to the list of “lets write this up”….. 4 years later!
These are great little quick makes, that are also great for the environment too as they are resuasble, after being put in the washing machine.

Yarns
Yarn choice for crochet face scrubbies needs to a be a 100% cotton yarn as you’ll be washing them on a hot wash.
These are a brilliant stash buster for cotton yarns, as they use such a tiny amount. So if you have any leftover cotton these would be perfect for this project.
If you did want to buy new yarn for this project – I used
I used Lilys Sugar and Cream in different colours
But also
Scheepjes Chalista would give a similar sized Scrubbie and comes in smaller balls.
Now – if you want to be Super Eco Conscious, Paintbox Yarns have realised a 100% recycled 100% cotton yarn. which would be absolutely perfect for these scrubbies
But as I said before – left over cotton yarn is perfect (and the more colours the better)
Saving this for later?

Design for the Crochet Scrubbies
As always., I like to give a little background into why I designed these.
I have a bit of a fascination with Bobble Stitch (again – many a pattern waiting to be typed up), so I decided to use that here too. I thought it would give a nice different texture to the scrubbie, rather than a flat circle.

These were the first ones made all that time ago, with a 100% organic yarn, that was left over from my Eco Market tote Bag pattern.

These used a DK weight yarn, and a 4mm hook, and came out slightly smaller – about 5 cm in diameter.
As a note – for how to see things differently – This Scrubbie was also the basis for my little turtle keyring pattern I designed for Crochet Now magazine issue 59.
