Hi, Welcome and thanks for stopping by. Here you can find all the pattern for the “All the Stripes” Kids crochet sweater and the free pattern link, as well as why I designed this great little sweater.
I don’t know about you – but I love stripes, and stripes on tops get all the points in my book. Bold rainbow stripes in a sweater – I can’t think of a better make. Rainbow, but not in rainbow order, and the contrast between the colours just makes this design “pop”.
This sweater is worked from the top down – Raglan style – its sounds complicated – but honestly – its seriously easy, if you can count, and make 2 DC in certain places – you can easily make this little jumper.
This free sweater pattern is sized aged 2-10.

I’m going to start with the yarn on this one.
And what a yarn this is: Cygnet Silacress
Wow – is what I can say about this yarn.
I was lucky enough to be sent some of the newly re-launced yarn from the lovely people over at Cygnet to play with earlier in the Summer last year.
WOW – just wow!
This yarn is so so soft, and silky, and was a delight to have a play with.
This is a premium acrylic – but NOT with a premium price – at £2.99 ( approx $4) for 100g this is super affordable.
On to what I made -I knew exactly what I was going to make with this yarn.
The stitch definition with this yarn is glorious.
And it wasn’t long before I jumper head first into making.
I went for a Raglan, top down construction. and was well away pretty quickly.
Raglan = maths
Raglan = lots of maths!
And this one took a few attempts to get right!
Oh – those were the days….. when the Ice rinks were still open and I’d sit crocheting in the freezing cold over the summer during Ice Hockey training.
Kids Crochet Sweater Design
It’s made in the top down construction.
You make it in one piece until you split for the shoulders.
And – thats when the colour changes come in.
The jumper uses a 4mm hook to get a tension
18 st and 10 rows to measure 10 x 10cm (4 x 4”) over treble crochet with a 4mm hook or size needed to obtain tension.
