Amigurumi Unicorn Pattern

A new pattern today – my Crochet or Amigurumi Unicorn who is named Violet.

This is my new soft toy design……. Violet the Unicorn.  She is adorable, and measures a huge 50cm from hooves to horn!

So why Violet?  Well yes she has Violet hair, but actually it’s because the pinks ones middle name is Violet!

It’s been long awaited, and I’ve teased you a few times on Instagram and facebook already.

So why did I make her?  The pink one loves unicorns, and I mean seriously loves unicorns.  I’ve written a whole post about her love of unicorns already as she’s so obsessed!  I should also add the original post was written before every item in her wardrobe was only allowed if it featured a unicorn!

I wanted to make her one that was special to her, so time for some amigurumi.

I knew what I wanted her to look like, how the mane would be made, and so set to work with yarn from my ever growing stash!

She comes in at a huge 50cm tall, and luckily works up really quickly as she’s made with chunky yarn * and a 5.0mm hook.

So what do you need to make Violet, well all the yarns etc are listed below – it’s only 2 balls of white, a little bit of grey in a chunky yarn.  

Yarn and Equipment

• 2 balls of Stylecraft chunky yarn in white
• 1 ball of Stylecraft chunky in grey
• oddments of DK yarn for the mane and tail (I used magenta, violent and lavender Stylecraft special DK)
• 5.0mm and 4.0 mm crochet hooks
• yarn needle for sewing in ends (I can highly recommend these)
• scissors
• stitch marker
• Two 18mm safety eyes
• Polyester toy filling
